Discover New Oil and Gas Reserves with Thyssen Petroleum USA - Welcome!

Bayou Bouillon Field — Louisiana

Exploring the World of Energy with Thyssen Petroleum USA

Thyssen Petroleum's foundation was laid in the challenging wetlands of Louisiana, where we successfully established the Bayou Bouillon Field. After acquiring and processing state-of-the-art proprietary 3D seismic data, we began drilling wildcat wells in 2013. Our efforts led to the discovery and production of over 7 million barrels of oil and 3 BCF of gas, efficiently transported to the market via pipelines and oil barges. To support sustainable operations, we drilled and managed a disposal well capable of handling over 4 million barrels of produced water. In 2023, Thyssen Petroleum was recognized as the highest oil producer in the state of Louisiana. Today, we continue to expand reserves, work over existing wells, and drill new wells, with over 10 million BOE in remaining reserves targeted for future development.

Kuparuk River Oil Field — Alaska

Exploring the World of Energy with Thyssen Petroleum USA

In Alaska’s Kuparuk River Oil Field on the North Slope, Thyssen Petroleum undertook one of its most ambitious projects. Battling -50°C arctic conditions, we designed and executed specialized arctic engineering solutions to complete Phase 1 of our Central Processing Facility. We successfully tapped into the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) and began commercial production in 2024. Our discovery unlocked reserves of over 72 million barrels of oil and 11 BCF of gas. Operating efficiently in one of the harshest climates on Earth demonstrates our unparalleled ability to adapt, innovate, and deliver large-scale oil and gas projects.

Gulf of America — Offshore Operations

Exploring the World of Energy with Thyssen Petroleum USA

Our expansion into offshore operations marked a major milestone for Thyssen Petroleum. In the Vermilion-153 Block, we drilled a 4,600-meter well under 70 meters of water utilizing a jack-up rig, successfully discovering commercial quantities of gas and condensate. We have already laid a subsea gas pipeline and are finalizing the installation of a production platform to bring the field online. Beyond this initial success, we have acquired 11 additional offshore blocks and are finalizing exploration plans to drill two new blocks in 2025 and 2026. Estimated reserves across these holdings exceed 526 million barrels of oil and 3 trillion cubic feet of gas, positioning Thyssen Petroleum for significant long-term growth in the Gulf.

Texas and Louisiana — Scattered Fields

Exploring the World of Energy with Thyssen Petroleum USA

In addition to our major field developments, Thyssen Petroleum operates a portfolio of scattered wells across Texas and Louisiana. We are currently conducting comprehensive reservoir evaluations and preparing field development plans to optimize production and maximize asset value from these legacy properties. Our team’s technical expertise ensures that even smaller, mature assets are approached with the same discipline and innovation that drive our larger projects.
